Indus Hospital – Karachi 2009-2016

Indus Charity Hospital is 150 bedded hospital and is a unique project in a county like Pakistan. Every patient is treated completely free irrespective of his or her status. The hospital is run by charitable donations from rich industrialists mainly and provides a very high quality service for patients who cannot afford it. Since 2009 until 2016 IMRA team has performed over 70 Major Ear cases on extremely poor patients. IMRA has donated 3 Microscopes, extensive Anaesthetic and Paediatric airway equipment, 3 Nerve Monitors, Colposcope, 3 Audiometers and various surgical instruments and appliances worth totalling £100,000 and over 700 Hearing Aids worth approx. £10,000.

INDUS HOSPITAL KARACHI IMRA started this free programme in Dow University Karachi and has now moved to the Indus (Charity) Hospital, Karachi. Since December 2012 over 40 children have received Implants and 37 of these were completely paid for by donors as these patients were extremely poor. Mr Noweed Ahmad, Consultant Otologist/Skull Base Surgeon James Cook University Hospital has been the Lead Surgeon.
