What is Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is performed using a telescope connected to a screen, allowing the surgeon to operate on the nose and sinuses in a controlled and precise manner while minimising the risk of serious complications.
Patients requiring this surgery mainly suffer from nasal and sinus blockage, which can affect their day-to-day lives and even disrupt their sleep. The condition can also affect their performance at work, as they may experience tiredness and fatigue due to the persistent blockage.
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is also performed for patients with cancer affecting the nose and sinuses.
Channel 21, a TV station in Karachi, interviewed Dr Haroon Khan, Founder & Chair of IMRA, who spoke to the media about the reasons for performing Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and the IMRA project taking place that day.
Success Stories
Yousma, a second year student residing in Orangi Town, Karachi, Pakistan was experiencing pains in her face and was referred to IMRA. She was treated in Memon Hospital.
"I am extremely grateful to the IMRA team for making this process so easy for us. Insha'Allah (God willing), my daughter will recover fully. There are so many other children in the world facing this and other medical issues. I am thankful that IMRA provides free treatment like this, so children can be healthy and thrive before their parents' eyes. I am deeply thankful. May they continue to treat many others alongside my child, come every year, help those who cannot afford care, and receive everyone's heartfelt prayers."
